Benzalkonium chloride has many uses, but it is especially used as an antimicrobial agent. It is also called "Alkyl Dimethyl Benzyl Ammonium Chloride", or "ADBAC".
"Benzalkonium chloride" is a "quaternary ammonium" compound, which is used in many products such as disinfectant and skin antiseptic, cosmetics and textile products, and acts against Gram (+) and Gram (-) bacteria.
Using 10% or more causes irritation on the skin and mucous membranes.
In our laboratory, "benzalkonium chloride analysis" can be performed.
