Challenge Test (Preservative Efficiency Test) is performed to determine the effectiveness of preservatives in cosmetic products.
For the "protective efficacy test", microorganisms such as "Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 9027", "Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538", "Escherichia coli ATCC 8739", "Candida albicans ATCC 10231", "Aspergillus brasiliensis ATCC 16404" are combined with cosmetic products in certain proportions. It is expected to reduce the growth of microorganisms from the product within certain limits. It is of great importance to have a "challenge test" since the product is microbially safe during its shelf life.
