The European Chemicals Agency announced that octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4) and decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) cannot be used in any product that needs to be rinsed after 2020.
D4 and D5 are not among the chemicals to be avoided in the list of chemicals harmful to human health prepared by Environmental Working Group. However, considering the potential risks, D4 and D5 will not be allowed to be present in the rinsed products.
