As it is known, studies have been carried out for about 1 month on the prevention of mucilage pollution in the Sea of Marmara and the mucilage has been completely cleared from the sea surface.
In their statements, the authorities stated that the three most important causes of mucilage are the increase in temperature due to climate change, the stagnation in the Sea of Marmara and the nitrogen and phosphorus pollution coming into the Sea of Marmara.
Accordingly, at the "Marmara Sea Action Plan Coordination Board" meeting, it was decided to increase the "market surveillance and inspection activities" of detergents and to strictly inspect the products in the market.
In particular, the authorities stated that support will be provided for the sale of phosphate-free cleaning products to prevent phosphate-related pollution, and that the use of phosphate-free cleaning products in public institutions and organizations will be made mandatory in the future.
In this sense, when manufacturers produce phosphate-free products, they will have to certify that that product does not contain phosphate.
