During the processing and preparation of foodstuffs, it is very common to use dyestuffs as additives in foodstuffs İn order to prevent color discolorations in foodstuffs and to give food a more attractive appearance.
There are some restrictions and legal regulations for synthetic dyes used in this field. In some products, the use of synthetic paint is completely prohibited. If dyes are used in the food produced, these substances must be indicated on the food label. Some of these synthetic dyes are very toxic and should therefore be controlled according to food regulations.
In the Turkish Food Codex, the usage areas and dosages of the dyes are limited.
