Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) are used as foaming agents especially in shampoos to provide more foam. Paraben is also used as a preservative in many cosmetic products.
Producers SLES and SLS use these substances in their products because they are cheap. However, recent discussions about these substances have led consumers to products that do not contain these substances. For this reason, manufacturers have recently introduced products that do not contain these substances, and SLS free, SLES free, paraben free are frequently mentioned, especially in shampoos and liquid soaps.
According to the latest communiqué issued by the Ministry of Health, companies must submit the relevant analysis reports to the Ministry of Health for products containing this information on their labels (SLS free, SLES free, Paraben free). These reports should be obtained from a laboratory with Turkak accreditation.
Saniter Laboratory is the only laboratory accredited by Türkak for SLS, SLS and paraben analysis.
Cosmetic companies should obtain an analysis report for SLS free and similar expressions and submit it to the Ministry of Health.
